What do you do when the weather is inclement?

There is no such thing as bad weather at Little Doe Daycare, just the wrong clothing! We have an array of shelters in the nursery, some heated and the children will be given a kit list in the parent handbook which helps everyone get it right. We will work alongside parents to ensure children are kitted out well and kept dry in the Scottish weather!

The nursery has a toilet hut, which has two compost loos inside and a changing station for those still training and using pull ups or nappies. We also have a pop up toilet tent with a compost camping loo inside. All these toilets are freshened with sawdust and cleaned out daily. 

We ask that any children still wearing nappies or pull ups come with their own supply and a supply of wipes also. Your key worker will be more than happy to help with or discuss any toileting needs. 

We are a play based nursery, where children can learn through exploring in nature, alongside the Scottish Deer Centre animals and staff. We follow the national guidance Early Years in Scotland Realising the Ambition:Being Me Realising the Ambition | Resources | Education Scotland

Children are able to follow their own interests and are offered meaningful experiences in the nursery, being at the centre of all that we do.
