Welcome to Little Doe Daycare Child Care

KATH

CHLOE

Kath Webster, our Nursery Manager, has been working outdoors for over 20 years, in the education and early years sector. Kath first worked in outdoor nurseries when her own daughter was a baby, and soon fell in love with outdoor play for young children. ‘It's just the best way for children to play, learn and feel safe and happy. The smallest thing can be so meaningful for them, like finding a ladybird, making a potion in the mud, or climbing up a tree for the first time. Outdoor play covers all areas of the curriculum beautifully and we see children thrive in natural environments where anything can happen!’

‘Hi, I’m Chloe! I have 4 ½ years of experience in childcare and nearly 3 years as a qualified practitioner with SVQ Level 3, Social Service, (Children and Young People).  I love what I do- especially watching children get creative and use their imagination, there’s nothing better than seeing their confidence grow as they explore, learn and express themselves!  I am excited to expand my own knowledge further in my first Early Years Outdoor Practitioner role. I’m passionate about the benefits of outdoor learning and can’t wait to help children learn and grow in a natural environment’.

‘Hello! I’m Elaine and I’ve been supporting and caring for children for almost eight years, firstly as a registered childminder and the last two years in local authority and private nurseries.I have an SVQ Level 3, Social Service, (Children and Young People). Nature plays a central role in my approach to childcare. I believe that the outdoors offers endless opportunities for learning, growth and enjoyment.

Outside of work I tend to my allotment, a space where I grow fruit, vegetables, flowers. I share this passion with the children, involving them in planting, watering and spotting mini beasts.

Why choose us?

From research we know that outdoor play and learning, especially in the early years is vital to every child’s development

‘the key benefits of a nature-based learning approach include: increased self-esteem and confidence, helping to develop social skills and language and communication skills, building confidence in problem solving and motivation for learning, expanding knowledge, improved physical health including fine and gross motor skills, and, promoting curiosity, teambuilding, perseverance and resilience’.
